Mullah went hunting with the village mayor. They found a turkey, and the mayor shot and missed it.“Bravo!“ Mullah shouted. The mayor angrily turned to him and said, “How dare you make fun of me!“ “I wasn’t making fun of you,” Mullah replied. “I was saying bravo to the turkey!“

Another day the Sultan wrote a poem and read it to Mullah.“Did you like the poem?” he asked.“No, not really,” Mullah replied, “it wasn’t very good.”The Sultan was enraged, and he sentenced Mullah to three days in jail. The next week, the Sultan called Mullah in his court to read him another poem he had written. When the Sultan finished reading, he turned to Mullah and asked, “Well, what do you think of this one?” Mullah did not say anything, and immediately began walking away. The Sultan inquired, “Just where do you think you’re going?" “To jail!“ Mullah replied.

இதேபோன்று இன்னொரு சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் சுல்தான் ஒரு கவிதை எழுதி முல்லாவிடம் வாசித்தார். கவிதை பிடித்திருக்கிறதா? என்று சுல்தான் கேட்டார். இல்லை, உண்மையில் இல்லை, அந்த கவிதை அவ்வளவு நன்றாக இல்லை என்றார் முல்லா. சுல்தான் கோபமடைந்தார். முல்லாவுக்கு மூன்று நாட்கள் சிறைத்தண்டனை விதித்தார்.

அடுத்த வாரம், தான் எழுதிய மேலுமொரு கவிதையை முல்லாவுக்கு வாசித்து காட்ட சுல்தான் தனது அரசவைக்கு முல்லாவை அழைத்தார். சுல்தான் வாசித்து முடித்ததும், முல்லா பக்கம் திரும்பி, சரி, இதை பற்றி என்ன நினைக்கிறீர்கள்? என்றார். முல்லா எதுவுமே பேசாமல் அங்கிருந்து நடக்க ஆரம்பித்தார். நீங்கள் எங்கே போகிறீர்கள்? என்று சுலதான் கேட்க, சிறைக்கு என்று பதிலளித்தார் முல்லா.
