One day Akbar gave a peculiar order to Birbal to find him six biggest fools in their kingdom in a month’s time. Akbar sometimes demanded strange things. Birbal politely agreed to Akbar’s order and left the palace to carry out the order as directed by the Emperor.

As he was riding his horse set on his mission, which was searching for the greatest fools ,first he met a man named Abu who was sitting on a donkey and carrying some grass on his own head, thinking that it would help share the load of the poor animal.

Then he met two young men, Tippu and Subbu, who were fighting vigorously because Tippu threatened Subbu that he would release his imaginary tiger on Subbu's imaginary cow which they were planning to receive as a gift from God.

In the evening Birbal met someone who was trying to find his lost ring in the lit area when actually the ring had fallen next to a faraway tree; but since it was quite dark there, the man thought of finding the ring in a lit area instead.

Birbal gathered all these people and took the four of them to Akbar's court the next day. When Akbar asked who are the remaining two fools, Birbal pointed to himself and to Emperor Akbar for undertaking such an endeavor.

ஒரு மாத காலத்திற்குள் ஆறு பெரிய முட்டாள்களை தங்கள் ராஜ்ஜியத்தில் கண்டுபிடிக்கும்படி ஒரு வினோதமான கட்டளையை பீர்பாலிடம் அக்பர் ஒருநாள் விடுத்தார். இப்படிப்பட்ட விசித்திரமான விஷயங்களை அக்பர் எப்போதாவது கோருவதுண்டு.

பீர்பால், அக்பரின் கட்டளையை மரியாதையுடன் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, பேரரசர் கேட்டுக் கொண்டதற்கு இணங்க அந்த உத்தரவை நிறைவேற்ற அரண்மனையை விட்டு வெளியேறினார்.

முட்டாள்களை தேடி கண்டுபிடித்துவரும் தன்னுடைய குறிக்கோளுக்கான பயணத்தை குதிரையின் மேல் ஏறி தொடங்கினார். முதலில் கழுதையின் மீது அமர்ந்தபடி தன் தலையில் புல்லுக்கட்டை சுமந்தபடி சென்றுகொண்டிருந்த அபூ என்பவரை சந்தித்தார்.

அந்த பாவப்பட்ட விலங்கின் சுமையைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதன் மூலம் அதற்கு உதவுவதாக நினைக்கவே அபூ அப்படி செய்தார்.

அடுத்ததாக தீவிரமாக சண்டையிட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்த திப்பு, சுப்பு என்ற இருவரைச் சந்தித்தார். திப்பு தனது கற்பனைப் புலியை, சுப்புவின் கற்பனைப் பசுவின் மீது ஏவி விடப் போவதாக மிரட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். அவர்கள் இருவருமே கடவுளிடமிருந்து அவற்றை பரிசாக பெற திட்டமிட்டிருந்தனர்.

மாலையில் பீர்பால், தனது தொலைந்த மோதிரத்தை வெளிச்சமான பகுதியில் தேடிக் கொண்டிருந்த மற்றொரு நபரை சந்தித்தார். அவர் மோதிரத்தை தொலைத்த இடம் என்னவோ தொலைவில் இருந்த மரத்தின் அருகில். ஆனால் அங்கு இருட்டாக இருந்ததால் அதற்கு பதிலாக இந்த வெளிச்சமான இடத்தில் அவர் தன் மோதிரத்தை தேடிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

பீர்பால் இந்த மனிதர்களை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு, அவர்கள் நால்வருடன் மறுநாள் அக்பரின் அரசவைக்குச் சென்றார். மீதமுள்ள இரண்டு முட்டாள்கள் யார் என்றுஅக்பர் கேட்டபோது, பீர்பால் தன்னையும், அத்தகைய முயற்சியை மேற்கொண்டதற்காக பேரரசர் அக்பரையும் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார்.கட்டுரையாளர்: ஆங்கிலத் துறை முன்னாள் உதவிப் பேராசிரியர்
