The Fishing Mullah!

In the town where Mullah lived, no judge was appointed by the king for a long time.

people appealed to the king about this. "I intended to announce a humble person who is not at all boastful as the judge of your town, but so far no such person has been found. That is why I have not appointed a judge in your town." said the king to the people.

Mullah learned about this news. One morning, Mullah was strolling towards the palace with an old fishing net wrapped around him. The king, who was walking on the palace terrace, was surprised to see Mullah walking with a net wrapped around him. He sent one of his servants to bring Mullah.

"Mullah, why are you wandering around wrapped in a net like this?" he asked.

"My king, I used to do fishing trade in the early days. I have become a Mullah, but after all can I forget my old job? I'm going to fish again so that no profession is considered a disgrace." Mullah humbly replied to the king. It seemed to the king that Mullah was the humble man he had been waiting for so long. So the king appointed Mullah as the judge.

After a few days, the king saw Mullah walking down the street from the palace courtyard.

The king noticed that he did not have a fishing net. “What Mullah the fishing net could not be seen?" asked the king. "After the fish has been caught , where is the need for the net My Lord?" he replied. He referred to the position of judge as the fish, but the king did not seem to understand this.

மீன்பிடித்த முல்லா!

முல்லா வசித்து வந்த ஊரில் வெகு நாட்களாக நீதிபதியாக யாரையும் அரசர் நியமிக்கவில்லை. மக்கள் இது குறித்து மன்னரிடம் முறையிட்டனர். தற்பெருமை சற்றும் இல்லாத அடக்கமான ஒருவரே உங்கள் ஊருக்கு நீதிபதியாக நியமிக்க எண்ணினேன். ஆனால், இதுவரை அப்படி ஒருவர் கிடைக்கவில்லை. அதனால்தான் உங்கள் ஊரில் நீதிபதி நியமிக்கப்படவில்லை என்று மக்களிடம் அரசர் கூறினார் .

இந்தச் செய்தியை முல்லா அறிந்தார். ஒரு நாள் காலை மீன் பிடிக்கும் பழைய வலையை தன்மீது போர்த்திக் கொண்டு அரண்மனை பக்கமாக உலாவிக் கொண்டிருந்தார் முல்லா.

அரண்மனை மொட்டை மாடியில் உலாவிக் கொண்டிருந்த மன்னர், முல்லா தன் மீது வலையை போர்த்திக் கொண்டு உலாவுவதை கண்டு ஆச்சரியமடைந்தார். தன் பணியாளர் ஒருவரை அனுப்பி முல்லாவை அழைத்து வர சொன்னார்.

முல்லா நீர் ஏன் இப்படி வலையை போர்த்திக் கொண்டு அலைகிறீர்? என்று வினவினார்.

அரசே நான் ஆதி நாட்களில் மீன்பிடி தொழிலை செய்து வந்தேன். நான் என்னதான் முல்லாவாகிவிட்டாலும் பழைய தொழிலை மறக்கலாமா? எந்தத் தொழிலையும் கேவலமாக நினைக்கக் கூடாது என்பதற்காக மீண்டும் மீன் பிடிக்க போகிறேன் என்று பணிவாக முல்லா அரசருக்கு பதில் அளித்தார்.

இத்தனை காலமாக தான் எதிர்பார்த்த அடக்கமான மனிதர் முல்லாதான் என்று மன்னருக்கு தோன்றியது. அதனால் மன்னர் முல்லாவை நீதிபதியாக நியமித்தார்.

சில நாட்கள் சென்ற பிறகு முல்லா தெருவில் நடந்து செல்வதை அரண்மனை மொட்டை மாடியிலிருந்து மன்னர் கண்டார். அவரிடம் மீன் வலை இல்லாததை மன்னர் கவனித்தார்.

என்ன முல்லா மீன் வலையை காணோம்? என்று மன்னர் கேட்டார். மகாகணம் பொருந்திய அரசே மீனைப் பிடித்துவிட்ட பிறகு வலை எதற்கு? என்று முல்லா பதிலளித்தார். முல்லா மீன் என்று குறிப்பிட்டது நீதிபதி பதவியை, ஆனால் மன்னர் இதை புரிந்து கொள்ளவில்லை போலும்.
