உமையாள்: Yes, Grandma. I enjoyed thoroughly in this vacation. (நான் இந்த விடுமுறையை மகிழ்ச்சியாக கழித்தேன்.) I had a chance to go to Falls in Thirparappu, near Kanyakumari. (எனக்கு கன்னியாகுமரிக்கு அருகில் உள்ள திற்பரப்பு அருவிக்கு செல்லும் வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தது.)
இசை: Hey, is it? We too went there in May. (நாங்களும் மே மாதம் அங்கு சென்றோம்)
மித்ரன்: I went to Courtallam. But there was no water at that time. So, I was a bit disappointed. (நான் குற்றாலம் சென்றேன். ஆனால், அப்போது தண்ணீர் இல்லை. அதனால், நான் சற்று ஏமாற்றமடைந்தேன்.)
பாட்டி: It’s ok. Usually, the season starts by June in Courtallam. (பரவாயில்லை. வழக்கமாக, ஜூன் மாதத்தில்தான் குற்றாலத்தில் சீசன் தொடங்கும்). You can go there this month weekend. (இந்த மாதத்தின் வார இறுதியில் நீங்கள் அங்கு செல்லலாம்.)
மித்ரன்: Wow. My dad also told me the same. (என் அப்பாவும் இதையேதான் என்னிடம் சொன்னார்)
இனியன்: Now we all are becoming an expert to talk in English. (இப்போது நாம் அனைவரும் ஆங்கிலத்தில் பேசுவதில் வல்லுனர்களாகிவிட்டோம்.)
மித்ரன்: Ah! True. I just noticed it.
உமையாள்: Can we do a small recap of our learnings that happened in the previous academic year? (முந்தைய கல்வியாண்டில் நாம் கற்றுகொண்டவற்றை சற்றே திரும்பி பார்க்கலாமா)
இசை: I still remember that day. We started our English class with “Subjects”.
இனியன்: When grandma was telling me about English grammar “Subjects”, I was thinking about our school subjects. Ha ha ha.
இசை: Then, we saw “verbs”.
இனியன்: Verbs are very important in our language.
இசை: If we know the verbs, we can frame sentences easily. (வினைச்சொற்கள் பற்றி தெரிந்தால், நாம் வாக்கியங்களை எளிதில் உருவாக்க முடியும்.)
மித்ரன்: Three categories are there in the verb. Isn’t it?
இனியன்: Yes. “Present, Past, and Past participle”.
இசை: We learned more than two hundred verbs at that time. (அப்போது 200-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட வினைச்சொற்களைக் கற்றோம்.)
இனியன்: When I started learning the verbs, I became confident that I too could speak English. (வினைச்சொற்களை கற்க ஆரம்பித்ததும், என்னாலும் ஆங்கிலம் பேச முடியும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை பிறந்தது.)
